About the owners

Casa Azul was designed and completed in 2024 as a “passion project” by 2 newly-retired physicians, sailors, and world travelers, whose home base is on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, MD, USA. Amy is a gastroenterologist and an amateur chef and interior designer. Mark is a physician entrepreneur who loves anything with a sail. They have two wonderful adult children who are carving their own paths in Washington, DC, and who love visiting Casa Azul! At home, Amy and Mark also enjoy sponsoring US Naval Academy Midshipmen during their plebe year. Go Navy!

Tired of soulless “rental homes” pushed by Brokers and abused by renters? Casa Azul is different—built, designed, and loved as a 2nd home by Amy and Mark, a retired physician couple who delight in design and detail, and who welcome in a select number of guests who also respect and appreciate a finer home not typically found in the rental pool. Casa Azul is different. We are doing the marketing and management ourselves, and have strategically priced our home around 20% below comparable villas under brokerage. The goal is to provide our guests with a more cost-effective luxury villa rental experience, encourage repeat guests, etc. We are also planning a future launch of a virtual, no-commission “rental agency”, PuntaCanaByOwner.com, to provide this service to other PCRC villa owners.

9/22/2024 Really beautiful house. My wife and the guests loved it! The staff were terrific. Andrea and Rosi had the house and bedrooms pristine every day. The chef-prepared meals were amazing. In fact, we canceled some of our dining out plans because the dinners were not only better than at a top restaurant, they were a lot less expensive too. And the outside dining at the house was gorgeous on the terrace overlooking the pool, lake and the sunsets. I’ve never seen such a huge, beautiful, built-in stone table like they have out on the terrace. A spectacular dining experience. The house has a perfect, central location in the resort. Close to the beaches, golf, and tennis center. And 5 minutes to the airport! What an amazing place—a five-star experience all around.
